Cranberry Chipotle Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1/4 cup minced shallot
  • 1 teaspoon minced serrano chile pepper
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup agave syrup
  • 1 (12-ounce)package fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup HERDEZ® Traditional Chipotle Mexican Cooking Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Kosher salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1


Heat canola oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add shallot and serrano pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes or until softened.

Add orange juice and agave syrup, bring to simmer and add cranberries. Cook 6-7 minutes or until cranberries have all popped and are just starting to reduce.

Add HERDEZ® Traditional Chipotle Mexican Cooking Sauce, cinnamon and salt to taste. Mix well. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 20 minutes or until sauce is thick.

Let cool and refrigerate 15 minutes before serving.
