Preparation

Step 1

Cook the macaroni as instructed on the package. Meanwhile, melt the butter over medium heat in a large pan. Add in 1 C. of milk and flour. Whisk until the mixture becomes thick. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

Continue to mix until the mixture becomes smooth. Drain the macaroni. Transfer the macaroni into the large pan and coat the macaroni with the cheese mixture. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Place the cheese mixture into fridge for 1 hour. Line a cooking sheet with parchment paper. Form balls from the chilled macaroni mixture.

Pop them into the freezer for another hour. Meanwhile, heat up the olive oil in a frying pan. Mix the eggs and remaining milk into a small bowl. Place the breadcrumbs into a large bowl. Remove the macaroni balls from the freezer. Dip 1 ball at a time into the egg mixture and then into the breadcrumbs.

Place the prepared macaroni ball into the hot frying pan. Let it become golden brown. Do the same with the rest of the prepared macaroni balls. Place them on a paper towel lined plate. Serve with desired dipping sauce.
