Puff Pastry Waffles

By

These might not be the type of waffles you’d want to eat for breakfast very often, but they would be fantastic served as a dessert or a great treat to serve at a bridal or baby shower with various topping options.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry - thawed/defrosted
  • Waffle Iron
  • Toppings -maple syrup and topped with raspberries, chocolate chips and a little dash of powdered sugar.

Preparation

Step 1

Separate pastry into three sections - as unfolded.
Cut the sheets into small enough pieces to fit in your waffle maker. I have a pretty small Belgian waffle maker and I cut all the pieces in half.

For filled waffles, keep the sheets big enough to fold in half in your waffle maker.
Lay the pastry in a hot waffle maker. I had to fold up the corners of my dough to keep it from hanging off the edges.

For filled waffles, lay half of your dough on the waffle maker. Add your desired fillings. Mini chocolate chips would be divine! Then fold the other half of the dough over the top of the filling.

You shouldn’t need to add any oil or nonstick spray because the dough has a quite a bit of oil in it. My didn’t stick a bit!

Cook the pastry until it turns golden brown.
