Parmesan-Stuffed Dates

Ingredients
- 12 fresh Medjool dates (about 12 ounces)
- 2 ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, cut into 12 small pieces
- 6 slices bacon, halved crosswise
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Using a sharp knife, cut a slit in each date and remove the pit. Stuff each date with a piece of cheese. Wrap each with a bacon half and secure with a wooden toothpick. Place stuffed dates in a single layer in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Serve warm.

TO MAKE AHEAD:
Prepare dates as directed in Step 1. Place in an airtight container; cover. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Bake as directed.
