Ingredients
- 4 to 5 Medium Potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 Medium Onion, sliced
- 2 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
- 4 Cloves Garlic, pressed
- 1 tsp Salt
- Dash of Black Pepper
- Dash of Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Dried Thyme Leaves
- 3 Tbsp Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup Whipping Cream
- Paprika, optional
Preparation
Step 1
Sauté onions in butter in a large skillet until soft or transparent. In a shallow baking dish, arrange in layers sliced potatoes and onions, sprinkling with garlic and seasonings in between layers. Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes. Add whipping cream all over top, sprinkle with paprika if desired. Increase temperature to 400°. Bake an additional 10-20 minutes until potatoes are soft and fork tender and gratin is slightly browned on top.
