Easy Cheezy Pizza Burgers

  • 8

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Jar of spaghetti sauce (your choice)(need about 3/4ths of the jar)
  • 1 small can sliced black olives (drained)
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (in 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (in 1-inch cubes)
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • 8 squares of aluminum foil
  • Side Dish: Broccoli (Patrick wants french fries or tater tots)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Fry hamburger completely and drain off grease. Stir in salt, pepper, and spaghetti sauce to moisten. Turn heat to low/medium; stir in olives and cheese cubes. Heat thoroughly and remove from heat. Place about 1/2 cup mixture inside each hamburger bun. Wrap securely in foil and place on the middle rack of oven. (Don't need to place packets on anything, just on the bare racks of oven.) Bake about 10-15 minutes. The buns will be slightly crispy and cheese will be completely melted. Let cool about 5 minutes before unwrapping. Note: If you want, you can also add 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese to the meat mixture to thicken the sauce and add even more cheesy flavor.
