Vanilla Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 2 pinches of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Stir together the melted butter, vanilla and milk (or cream). Add the confectioners' sugar and salt and beat for about 4 minutes. If necessary, thin with a little more milk or cream, or thicken with a bit more confectioners' sugar.
This glaze sets and dries quickly. To prevent a crust from forming, cover the unused portion with a piece of plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface of the glaze.
