Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups white cornmeal
- 3/4 cup flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 3 Tbsp oil (save some of this for pan - use about 1 tsp. in pan)
Preparation
Step 1
Mix above ingredients together.
Put 1 tsp. oil in 9" pan. This allows the cornbread to "fry" in the pan while it is baking. Take the 1 tsp. oil from the 3 Tbsp. oil above.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 45 minutes.
