White Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups white cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp oil (save some of this for pan - use about 1 tsp. in pan)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix above ingredients together.
Put 1 tsp. oil in 9" pan. This allows the cornbread to "fry" in the pan while it is baking. Take the 1 tsp. oil from the 3 Tbsp. oil above.
Bake at 375 degrees F. for 45 minutes.
