Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 6 c. unsifted flour
- 1 T. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. water
- cornmeal
Preparation
Step 1
1.) Combine 3 c. flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
2.) Heat liquid (milk and water) til very warm and add to dry ingredients. Beat well.
3.) Stir in remaining 3 c. flour to make a stiff batter.
4.) Spoon into 2 pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in warm place for 45 min.
5.) Bake at 400 for 25 minutes and remove from pans immediately.
