Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk Recipe

You can easily make a homemade version of sweetened condensed milk, similar to Eagle Brand and others. As long as you use organic ingredients it will be organic and you will know exactly what is in it. You can substitute it measure for measure in most of your recipes that call for commercial sweetened condensed milk. I say most because even though I haven't found a recipe it doesn't work in, well there is always a first time.

Ingredients

• 1 cup organic dry milk
• 2/3 cup organic sugar
• 3 tablespoons organic unsalted butter
• 1/3 cup boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and thickened. The sugar should completely dissolve. Refrigerate in a tightly covered jar until ready to use.
