Raisin filled cookies- Cindy's

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups raisins
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 6 T.flour
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first four ingredients in heavy pan. Cook until thick. Stir constantly. Let cool.
Beat shortening until creamy. Add eggs, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add flour and baking soda. Mix well.Refrigerate overnite. Roll out. Cut into circles. Place spoonful of filling on circle. Cover with another circle. Bake 15 to 17 mins at 350
