Lemon sauce for steamed pudding

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
  • 1 drop yellow food coloring (optional)



Step 1

In 4-cup microwavable measuring cup, combine sugar and cornstarch. Gradually add water, mixing until sugar dissolves. Nuke at high 2 -3 min. or until sauce is clear and thickened., stirring after every minute., Add butter, lemon juice lemon peel and food coloring, mixing well. Cool slightly.
