Beef Crostini Horseradish Appetizer

Ingredients

  • baguette bread, sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • olive oil for brushing on bread slices
  • 1 garlic clove cut in half
  • 6 to 8 ounces (1/2 pound) deli roast beef , sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons prepared hot horseradish , drained
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt , or to taste
  • freshly cracked black peppercorns
  • chives for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Brush bread slices with olive oil. Place bread on a sheet pan, broil for 2 minutes per side or until the bread is toasted. Remove bread from broiler, rub with halved garlic cloves; set aside.

In a small bowl, combine sour cream, horseradish, salt and pepper, blend well. Adjust seasoning to taste. Arrange sliced roast beef on top crostini bread slices, add the horseradish-cream mixture, garnish with chives and serve.
