Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 2 Tbs. sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm skim milk (105-115 degrees)
  • 1/4 cup stick margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 4 cups bread flour divided
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbs. skim milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

dissolve yeast and 2 Tbs. sugar in 1 1/4 cups warm milk in large bowl
let stand 5 min.
add margarine, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and egg
stir well
stir in 3 1/2 cups flour, cocoa, and salt
form soft dough
turn dough out onto floured surface
knead till smooth and elastic (10 min.)
add enough remaining flour, 1 Tbs. at a time to prevent sticking to hands
place cough in lrg. bowl coated in cooking spray
turn to coat top
cover and let rise in warm place (85 degrees)until doubled (45 min.)
puch down
turn out to floured surface
roll into 16x8 in rectangle
brush white over entire surface
combine cinnamon and sugar
sprinkle evenly over entir surface
starting at long side roll up tightly
pinch to seal (not short ends)
cut into 16 slices using string or floss
arrange slices cut sides up in 9" baking pan coated with cooking spray
cover and let rise 30 min. or until doubled
preheat oven to 350
bake 20 min.
combine powdered sugar, 2 tsp. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla and stir well
drizzle over rolls
