Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni (not whole-wheat)
- 8 oz chopped ham
- 4 cups whole milk (not low-fat)
- 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
Step 1
I had some frozen ham in the freezer that I wanted to use up. I've made a slow cooker mac and cheese in the past and thought it would be a great main dish with the ham. This recipe is awesome! My favorite thing about this recipe is that the noodles cook in the slow cooker. You don’t have to boil the noodles ahead of time! AWESOME!
This mac and cheese isn't something that you can let cook all day while you are at work. It only takes about 2 1/2 hours to cook. I loved the convenience of just dumping everything in the crock-pot a few hours before dinner. We both really loved the mac and cheese. It had a wonderful flavor. Feel free to mix up the cheeses – the combinations are endless!
