Melt-Away Cheese Rounds

  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 3 c. shredded cheddar
  • 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. flour
  • Dash salt
  • 1 T. poppy seed or 2 tsp. paprika
  • Paprika or poppy seeds (for garnish opt.)

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter in food processor or mixer until light and fluffy. Add cheese, flour, salt, paprika or poppy seed. Form to a dough. Chill dough for 2 hours. Shape dough into small even balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with extra paprika or poppy seeds, if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. The rounds should never get browned. Cool on cookie sheet. Remove carefully. Store in airtight containers until ready to serve. When serving, reheat for a few minutes at 400 degrees until slightly warm.
