Ingredients

  • Dough: 8 cups flour
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 lb butter, melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Filling: MAKE ONE DAY AHEAD
  • 2 lbs. Black Mission Figs
  • 1/2 pkg pitted dates
  • 1/2 lb raisins
  • 1/2 lb roasted almonds
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 whole Fresh Tangerine
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1 TBLSP Rum
  • 1 TBLSP Honey

Preparation

Step 1

Put figs in food processor and grind up, add other ingredients and process until blended. Store in Tupperware and refrigerate overnight

Combine ingredients for Dough: Roll dough thin approx. 1 ft long x 6 inch wide and put the some filling down the middle. Fold over the dough so that now you have 1 ft. x 3 inches wide and then cut cookies every 2-3 inches. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 for 15 min.

Frosting: 1 lb powdered sugar, juice from one lemon - mix and add milk for consistency - when cooled - frost and add colored sprinkles
