Oatmeal Raisin Scones
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups bleached flour
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/3 cup granulated or light brown sugar
- 1 Tbs baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold uns. butter
- 1 1/2 cups raisins
- 1 cup milk plus extra for brushing tops
- 1 Tbs sugar mixed with 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
combine flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, and salt in food processor with steel blade
pulse 5 times at 1 second intervals
cut butter into 12 pieces
add to processor and pulse into fine meal
add raisins and 1 cup milk
pulse 3 or 4 times to form very soft dough
flour work surface
fold dough on itself until less sticky
divide into 3 parts and press into 5 " disks, quarter each with floured knife
arrange 2" apart on jelly roll pan lined with parchment or foil
brush tops with milk
sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
bake in center of 450 oven 12-15 min or until golden and firm
keep loosely covered at room temp the day of baking
for longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze
* if using buttermilk add 1/2 tsp baking soda to dry ingredients
