Breakfast Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tsps baking powder
  • 4 eggs (seperated)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder
Add shortening and cream well

Keep 1 cup for topping

Beat egg yolks and milk together
Add to cream mix

Beat egg whites until stiff
Gently fold them into mix
Sprinkle top w/crumbs

Bake 45 min

Cool and sprinkle w/cinnamon and melted butter

Add apples if desired
