Shrimp and Sausage Brown Rice Paella

Ingredients
- 1 c uncooked, brown rice
- 1/2 tsp tumeric
- 1 can (14.5 oz) low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 8 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 1/2 tsp Creole seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (10oz each) diced tomatoes with green chiles
- 1 can (15 oz)artichoke hearts, drained and rinsed
- 1 c frozen peas, thawed
- 1 lb medium uncooked shrimp, peeled, deveined and tails removed

Preparation
Step 1
Add rice, tumeric, broth and water to microwave deep dish. Cook as directed for rice (10 minutes on high and 20 minutes on medium). Add onion, sausage, Creole seasoning, garlic, tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. Cook on high for 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook on high for 3-5 minutes. Let stand covered for 5 minutes before serving.
