Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! This week’s energy saving recipe utilizes leftovers from today’s big meal to create delicious baked crescent roll dumplings for your weekend full of gift shopping. It’s a perfect dish for when everyone starts to get bored with yet another repurposed turkey sandwich. Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll sheet (makes 8 baked dumplings)
  • Leftover sliced roast beef or ham Leftover chopped turkey
  • Leftover mashed potatoes Leftover white and/or brown gravy
  • Leftover sweet potato casserole
  • Leftover cranberry sauce
  • Shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Any leftover Thanksgiving foods
  • 1 tbsp. butter Garlic seasoning or any seasoning mixture that pairs with ingredients chosen

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (191 degrees Celsius).

Lay out sheet of crescent roll dough and cut into 8 squares.

Fill the middle of each square with chosen Thanksgiving leftover fillings.

Fold up each corner as shown in the photos to make each dumpling. Make sure to pinch the edges closed so no gravy or cheese leaks outs during baking.

Bake for 13 minutes until golden brown.

When removed from the oven, spread a small amount of butter on each dumpling to melt and sprinkle with any seasoning mixture on hand for a little extra flavor.

There are many options available for you creative types! One of my favorite combinations features roast beef or ham with mashed potatoes, gravy, and shredded cheddar cheese. Another great taste sensation includes leftover turkey breast, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, and a little turkey gravy.
