Maple Spiced Nuts

By

This is an extremely easy recipe to have some sweet but spicey nuts.

  • 5 mins
  • 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c unsalted butter
  • 1 lb of nuts-single variety or mixed(I used almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1/8-1/4 t cayenne pepper
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1/2 salt
  • 3 T maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet set over med high heat, melt the butter and add the n uts. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 min, until the nuts are fragrant and beginning to toast. Add the remaining ingredients, stirring until the sugar begins to melt. (I combined the dry seasonings together first to make sure they were all mixed together before I added them to the pan) Lower the heat to med and cook for another 3-4 min until the nuts are nicely caramelized around the outside. Transfer the ntus to a parchment lined baking sheet to cool, stirring periodically so they don't clump up. Tip....to enhance the flavor, you might toast them in the oven for 7-9 min on 325 once you transfer them onto the baking sheet. (I didn't do this but they were already wonderful)
