Ingredients
- Chicken, with skin and bone
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 2 eggs
- splash of water
- paper or plastic bag
- 1/2-3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Melt the Crisco over medium heat.
While Crisco is melting, rinse chicken and pat dry.
Combine the two eggs and add splash of water in a bowl. Add a dash of milk.
Take the chicken, dip it in egg mixture until coated. Drop it in the bag containing flour, salt and pepper.
Shake the bag, remove chicken and place it in the pan. Biggest pieces go in first.
When all pieces are in the skillet, allow chicken to brown. Use tongs to turn chicken over to brown on the other side.
After chicken is browned on both sides (about 10 minutes total), take about 1/4 cup of water and add it to the pan (not directly on chicken).
Put a lid loosely on the skillet. Flip as needed.
