Hearty Wholegrain Coffee Cake
This coffee cake combines the nutrition and flavor of wholegrain oats with the convenience of all-purpose biscuit mix.

Ingredients
- Topping:
- 2 cups biscuit mix
- 2/3 cups milk
- 1/2 cup Quaker Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned), uncooked
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2/3 cup Quaker Oats (Quick or Old Fashioned) uncooked
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
For Coffee Cake:
Combine all ingredients;mix just until dry ingredients are moistened.
For Topping:
Combine all ingredients; mix well. Spread half of batter into greased 8-inch square baking dish; sprinkle half of topping over batter. Top with remaining batter and topping. Bake in preheated oven (375 F.) 35-40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean; serve warm.
