Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- pinch salt
- 8 thick slices white bread
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 oz (125 g) each sliced smoked turkey and Black Forest ham
- 1 Tbsp each vegetable oil and butter
Preparation
Step 1
In large shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, pepper and salt.
Spread 4 of the slices of bread with mustard; sandwich cheese, turkey and ham with remaining bread. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, turning to soak well.
In large nonstick skillet, heat oil and butter over medium heat. Cook sandwiches, turning once, until crusty and browned and cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
