Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 sliced ripe bananas
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (can substitute milk with 1 tblsp. lemon juice)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Cream together shortening, sugar, bananas and add egg til well blended.
In another bowl mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
In a measuring cup mix buttermilk and vanilla.
Add a little flour mixture and then a little of the milk mixture, mix in between, alternate til all is added.
Pour into a greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
