Wicked Good Sand-Witches

Ingredients

  • 8 slices marble rye or whole-wheat bread
  • 1/2 avocado, pitted, peeled and mashed
  • 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. Simply Organic® Garlic Powder
  • 2 Roma (plum) tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 8 oz. thinly sliced Black Bear® Deli Ham or Turkey
  • 4 thin slices reduced-fat Swiss cheese

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat broiler. Place bread slices on a large baking sheet. Place baking sheet in oven and broil 1 minute per side or until lightly toasted. Remove
from oven and set aside.

2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine avocado, lemon juice, garlic powder, and freshly ground pepper to taste. Set aside.

3. To make the witches’ hats: Cut each bread slice into 1 triangle, leaving the whole length of the bottom crust intact (to resemble the bottom rim of the
witch’s hat). Spread half of the bread triangles with avocado mixture, and sprinkle with tomatoes. Top each with one-fourth of the ham and 1 cheese
slice. Top each with a remaining bread triangle, and serve.
