Casey's Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts

Ingredients

  • 2 cans whole water chestnuts
  • 1 package bacon
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • toothpicks
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • (1 TB Vinegar - Optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1) Cut bacon strips in thirds and slightly pre-cook (not crispy). Then wrap each water chestnut and secure with toothpick.

2) Bake on a cookie sheet (use one with sides to catch grease) at preheated 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

3) Mix together ketchup, pepper and brown sugar. After 30 minutes pour sauce over each one and put back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.

Serve immediately.
