Ingredients
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 Cup chopped green or red bell peppers
- 3/4 Cup ketchup
- 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 11/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. GROUND CUMIN
- 1 tsp. OREGANO
- 2 tsp. CHILI POWDER
- 1 tsp. CAYENNE PEPPER
- 2 tsp. HUNGARIAN SWEET PAPRIKA
- 1 tsp. REGULAR MUSTARD POWDER
Preparation
Step 1
Brown the ground beef. Drain off any fat left in the pan. Add the onion, garlic and bell pepper. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Simmer over low heat for about an hour or so. Serve over hot dogs or hamburgers, or on a bun by itself.
A note from Anne: At the end, if it seems a bit 'loose', I add a little cornstarch mixed with water. Start with 1 heaping teaspoon combined in a bit of water (1 TB).
