Baked Camembert with Pear and Cinnamon Confit
- 200 g Brie or Camembert Wheel
- 1 ripe pear, peeled, cored and grated
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp walnuts, chopped
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp honey
Melt butter in heavy pan over medium heat. Add ground cinnamon and cloves and sugar. Add pear and mix well. Cover and simmer over low heat until pear softens. If mix looks dry stir in small amounts of water to keep slightly moist.
Cut camembert wheel in half through the mid section. Place on half in a ceramic baker-flesh side up. Spread pear mix over the flesh of the Camembert. Place second half of the cheese on top of thepear mix, top with the honey and cover with lid.
Place in preheated 350 oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until soft and heated through.
Carefully remove baker from oven and garnish with walnuts. Serve with your favorite crusty bread or crackers.
