Slow cooker French toast casserole

  • 1 loaf white bread cut in 1 inch cubes
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 c cream
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • zest of one orange
  • 1/2 c toasted walnuts
  • 3 T butter cut in cubes
  • non stick cooking spray
  • maple syrup and bananas for serving



Step 1

place bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast in over 8-10 minutes
remove and cool
in a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, cream, maple syrup and orange zest
add in the toasted bread cubes and toss in egg mixture-add walnuts
line crock pot of slow cooker with foil and spray with non stick spray
pour the mixture into the slow cooker and dot the top with cubes butter
cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5
