Sourdough Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup sourdough starter
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 tablespoons cream
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• Pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar, shortening and cream.

Add eggs, vanilla extract, salt and sourdough.

Fold in flour and baking powder.

Roll on lightly floured board; cut with knife into 1/4-inch slices.

Sprinkle with sugar.

Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
