Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1-1/2 c unsalted butter, at room temp.
  • 3 c powdered sugar
  • 3/4 c sour cream
  • pinch of kosher salt

Preparation

Step 1

Heat chocolate in a double boiler or medium heatproof bowl set over but not in a sauce pan of simmering water, stirring often, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let cool, 10-15 mins.

Beat butter on high until light and fluffy, about 3-5 mins. Reduce mixer to low and gradually add in sugar and beat until smooth, scraping down the sides. Add chocolate, sour cream and salt and beat to combine.
