A perfect moist and tender summertime cake. Like rays of warm sunshine, this Sun Drop Cake is best served warm. Don't have any Sun Drop soda, use Mountain Dew instead.

Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 1 package DUNCAN HINES® Deluxe Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) JELL-O® Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
  • 1/2 cup SUN DROP® soda or lemon soda
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup SUN DROP® soda or lemon soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 12-cup (10-inch) bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Combine all ingredients in large bowl; mix well. Do not over-mix. Pour mixture into prepared pan.

Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

While cake is still in pan, poke holes into cake with handle of wooden spoon. Ladle approximately half of glaze over cake. Allow cake to set 10 minutes.

Turn cake out onto round plate then drizzle remaining glaze over top of cake.

Serve warm or at room temperature.

Note: Cake is best when served warm.

Glaze:

Combine soda, sugar and butter in small heavy saucepan.

Heat over medium heat; stir until all ingredients are melted.
