Ingredients

  • 2 c 100% bran cereal
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 1 c shortening
  • 3 c sugar
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 qt buttermilk
  • 5 c flour
  • 5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 c All bran cereal

Preparation

Step 1

Pour boiling water over the 100% Bran cereal and set aside to cool. In large bowl, cream together the shortening and the sugar, stir in eggs and buttermilk. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Then add cooled cereal mixture and blend thoroughly. Mix in All Bran until moist. Store in a 4 qt container in fridge. Bake in greased muffin tins @ 400 for 15 - 20 min.
