Buttermilk Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 T. Yeast
  • 2/3 C. Warm Water
  • 2 C. (1 pint) Buttermilk
  • 1/2 C. Sugar
  • 1/2 t. Baking Soda
  • 2 t. Salt
  • 1/3 C. Oil
  • 5 C. Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in water with 1 t. sugar. Heat buttermilk to lukewarm & add to yeast mixture. Add other ingredients, with flour being last.

Let rise until double. Roll into golf-ball size & place on greased sheet, touching each other. press down slightly. Let rise.

BAKE 375 for 20 minutes.

(buttermilk substitute: 1 T. Lemon Juice plus enough milk to make 1 Cup. Let stand a few minutes)
