Skillet Apple Pie
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 refrigerated rolled pie crusts
- 1 (21 oz.) can apple pie filling
- 2 T. cinnamon sugar
- whipped cream
Heat oven to 400º. Melt butter in a 9" iron skillet; set aside 1 T. of the melted butter for top crust. To the melted butter, add brown sugar & melt together for 2 minutes. Remove from heat & line skillet with one of the pie crusts. Pour apple pie filling over crust & sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Use second crust to cover filling. Brush top with reserved melted butter, then evenly sprinkle the remaining 1 T. cinnamon sugar on top. Cut vents in middle of the pie. Bake 30 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
