Velvet Crumb Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Bisquick
  • 1/2 Cup Milk or Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbs. Shortening
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • Grease and flour square pan, 8X8X2 or round pan 9X1 1/2. Beat in all ingredients except topping on low speed, scraping bowl constantly for 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally
  • Bake until toothpick comes our clean – 30-35 minutes. Cool slightly, spread on topping.
  • Put oven on BROIL and put topping on cake and broil it for about 3 minutes.

1/3 Cup packed Brown Sugar
¼ Cup Chopped Nuts
3 Tbs.softened butter
2 Tbs. Milk
