Bean and Sausage Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. sweet Italian pork sausage, casings removed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tea. garlic powder or 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Prego Traditional Italian Sauce or Tomato, Basil & Garlic Italian Sauce
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can black beans or pinto beans
  • 1 can white kidney beans (cannellini), drained
  • 1 can red kidney beans, drained

Preparation

Step 1

Cook the sausage, onion and garlic powder in saucepan over medium-high heat until sausage is browned, stirring to separate the meat. Pour off any fat.

Add Italian sauce and broth and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Add the beans and heat through.
