Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 4 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 New York Steaks, cut 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoon beef broth

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl combine 2 tablespoon garlic with the ginger, brandy, soy sauce, and the sugar. Add the steaks and coat both sides. Marinate in refrigerator for 1-2 hours, turning twice.

Heat oil over high heat. Place steaks and brown for 2 minutes each side. Turn heat to medium hig and continue cooking until meat to your liking (3-4 minutes for medium rare.

Pour 2 tablespoons of brandy around the steaks and cook until alcohol evaporates. Remove steaks.

Add the remaining brandy to pay and stir to scrape up the browned bits. Add remaining garlic and 2 tablespoons of ginger. Cook for 30 seconds. Add beef broth. Stir once or twice, bring to a biol and then pour sauce over steaks.
