Ingredients

  • 2 C. sugar Filling
  • 1 C. wesson oil
  • 3 eggs (well beaten--add 1 at a time) 1 stick butter melted
  • 3 C peeled sliced thin apples 1C. packed brown sugar
  • 3 C flour 1/4C. evapporated milk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C nuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Batter will be very tick.

Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.
In a large bowl, mix sugar,and wesson oil and add eggs, and vanilla.

Add flour mixture a little at a time and mix well. Add apples and nuts.
Pour into tube pan and bake in preheated oven for 1 hr.

Filling
Mix all ingredients well in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil for 1 min. Pour over cake while hot
