Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. butter (softened)
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 c. blueberries
  • 1/2 c. pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 T. cornstarch
  • 2 c. blueberries
  • 1/2 t. lemon juice

Step 1

Cook sausage, crumble and drain. Mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Cream butter until light, add sugar and brown sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time. Beat 1 minute after each egg. Add flour mixture, alternate with sour cream, beat until moist, after each addition. Fold sausage, blueberries and pecans into batter. Spoon into a 9"x13" baking pan. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Combine sugar, water, and cornstarch in sauce pan. Mix well, stir in berries. cook over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Cook 2 minutes longer, stir in lemon juice. Pour over each piece. Cut into servings.
