Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 ⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 ⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup unsalted soft butter
- 10 - 12 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 - 2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 ⁄4 cup sesame seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Mix flour, salt and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl.
Cut in margarine with a pastry blender or two knives until coarse crumbs form.
Add Cheddar, cereal and sesame seeds to bowl; mix well.
Divide dough in half. Shape each half into a 7 inch log on plastic wrap. Refrigerate 1 hour or overnight. Slice dough into 1/4-inch discs.
Arrange discs on baking sheets 1 inch apart. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Bake until crispies are firm and golden, about 15 minutes. remove to wire rack and let cool.
You can freeze wrapped logs for later use. Just unwrap logs and slice and bake.
