Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups long-grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter (1 to 2)
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. When it comes to a boil, add salt and then rice. Stir and then boil for 15 minutes or until just cooked. Drain, toss with butter, season with salt and pepper, to taste, and serve.

This recipe yields 4 cups cooked rice.

Cook's Note: One cup raw rice equals 3 cups cooked.
