- ounces packaged dried rigatoni (about 2 cups)

- ounces cooked smoked sausage, halved lengthwise and cut into 1-inch pieces

- pounds Red Macintosh or Braeburn apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
- 1/2 1/2
- cup whipping cream
- 1/2 1/2
- cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese (2 ounces)
- Fresh herbs (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a 4-quart Dutch oven cook pasta according to package directions. Drain; set aside.
2. In the same Dutch oven cook sausage until lightly browned. Add apples; cook about 5 minutes or until apples are lightly golden, stirring occasionally. Stir in cooked pasta, whipping cream, and cheese. Heat through. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs.
