Ingredients

  • 15 ounces pumpkin puree
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 12 ounces mini semi sweet chocolate chip, divided

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl combine pumpkin, eggs, sugar, brown sugar, oil, sour cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla, orange juice and molasses. Stir until well blended.
Then add in baking soda, baking powder, salt, and flour. Stir in just until combined. Then fold in all but ⅓ cup of chocolate chips.
Grease and flour 2 9 x 5 inch loaf pans. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Pour batter into both pans. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top of both loaves. Cook for about 40 minutes. Then cover both loaves loosely with aluminum foil and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and let set in pan for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then invert to a wire rack to finish cooling.
