Ingredients

  • 2 cups Nabisco Bran 100% 2 cups boiling water 4 cups Kellogg’s All Bran 3 cups minus 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 qt. Buttermilk 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. Crisco
  • 4 beaten eggs 5 cups flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Pour boiling water over 100% Bran and set aside.
2. Add: beaten eggs, buttermilk and All bran and cream together.
3. Mix together flour, baking soda and salt.
4. Add flour mixture #3 to creamed mixture #2.
5. Add soaked 100% Bran to mixture.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes.

Makes 1 gallon. Store in air tight container in frig for 6 weeks.
