Cranberry Apple

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen sheets of puff pastry (17.2oz pkg), thawed
  • 3/4 c. cranberry sauce
  • 2 gala apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. apricot jam
  • 2 tbsp. water

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Cut the pastry into 12 rectangles. Score a 1/2 in. border around each of the rectangles. Divide the cranberry sauce among the tarts (about 1 tbsp), spreading within the borders.

Top with sliced apples. Brush the outside border with the egg and sprinkle with sugar. Transfer to greased baking sheets and bake for 23-25 minutes, turning halfway through. The tarts should be golden brown.

In a small sauce pot, combine the water and apricot jam. Cook over medium heat until the jam has melted. Brush the mixture over each tart.

Optional whip cream to serve with.
