Adding Recipes
Following the above copy/paste instructions you can paste a recipe into the Directions field of the new recipe page at

and then copy the title and paste it into the Title section. Then copy the ingredients and paste it into the Ingredients section. Then you can delete the title and ingredients portion from the directions section leaving only the Directions. Once the recipe is set up to your satisfaction, press the green “Save” button to keep your changes.
The recipe is now added to your account’s Library. You now have the option to organize your recipe collection using “Cookbooks.” To do so, press the “Add to Cookbook/Edit Recipe” option located beneath the recipe image and row of share icons on the open recipe page.
Select an existing Cookbook from the drop down box for this recipe or type in a new Cookbook’s name in the New Cookbook text field and press the orange “Create” button to add your new Cookbook. Once your new Cookbook is created it will be available to choose from the drop down list.
7. How do I create a new recipe and add it to a cookbook?

Key Ingredient has over 2 million recipes available to add to your collection! You can browse through the latest recipes from the home page. To see more recipes, simply keep scrolling down with the Home Page’s “endless scroll” design. To save these recipes to your Recipe Library, you can either click on the Heart icon and it will save into your “Favorites” folder. Or you can open the Recipe and add this recipe to a Cookbook. To do so, press the “Add to Cookbook/ Edit Recipe” option located beneath the recipe image and row of share icons on the open recipe page. Select an existing Cookbook from the drop down box for this recipe or type in a new Cookbook’s name in the New Cookbook text field and press the orange “Create” button to add your new Cookbook. Once your new Cookbook is created it will be available to choose from the drop down list.

Finally, you can enter keywords into the search bar at the top of the screen to locate and add your favorite recipes. To change the privacy of a recipe in your Key Ingredient account, find and open the recipe you would like to edit. Next, select the “Add to Cookbook/ Edit Recipe” option located beneath the recipe image and row of share icons on the open recipe page. Then select the “Edit Recipe” option from the drop down box. Lastly, select the privacy setting of your choice and press the Green “Save” button to keep your updates.
The nutritional information on our website is supplied by KeyIngredient.com members. Unfortunately, our website does not have the technology to analyze and provide this info automatically. The best place to add the nutritional information to recipes is in the Description section.
To assist in analyzing the nutritional content of published recipes, our website has a great tool called the “Cookmark.” This feature allows you to browse the web and add recipes to your account with a click of the button. If another website has provided the nutritional content of a recipe, then this info will be transferred into your Key Ingredient account. To install the “Cookmark” button,
15. How do I add a photo to my recipe?

Once the image has been added you’ll need to select one of the following options, “ I am the owner of this image” or “I found this image on the internet” and select the green “Save” button. 16. How do I add Keywords to my recipe?

Press the Green “Save” button at the bottom of the page to keep your changes.

19. How do I add a new cookbook to my library?

To increase your search options, feel free to add additional Keywords to your recipes. To do so, locate and open the recipe that you would like to add a Keyword to. Then select the “Add to Cookbook/ Edit Recipe” option located beneath the recipe image and row of share icons on the open recipe page. Next, select the “Edit Recipe” option from the drop down box. In the Keyword box, type in keywords that describe your recipe, separated by commas. Press the Green “Save” button at the bottom of the page to keep your changes.
tab. The Cookbook Library will list your recipes alphabetically by default but can also be listed by “most recent”. To do so, please select the “alphabetical” button on the top of your Cookbook page and select “most recent” from the drop down box. Your recipes will then be displayed by most recently added. You can also change the default list view to a grid view which will display your recipe’s images. To do so, please select the grid view icon located towards the top of your page. The icon looks like a square with 4 small squares within it. To revert back to the list view simply click the icon to the right of it that has 3 horizontal lines running across.
You can add multiple recipes from your Library to the Cookbook of your choice at one time. Simply check mark the small white square before the recipe or recipes that you’d like to add to a specific Cookbook. Then click the “Add to Cookbook” button located on the top of your account’s screen and select the appropriate Cookbook from the drop down list.
If you would like to add a New Cookbook to your account, select the “+ New Cookbook” button on the left side of the page, under the word “Cookbooks.” A new field will appear for you to type in the name of your new Cookbook. Press the Green “Create” button to save your new Cookbook.
The spell check feature is available through various internet browsers. These browsers will place a dotted red line under a word that is misspelled. You might consider switching internet browsers if the current one you are using does not have that feature.
The Key Ingredient Recipe Reader has the option to remove the preloaded recipe bundle automatically from the “Account Manager” screen and can be quickly removed or added by selecting or deselecting “Preloaded Recipes.” To access this screen, please select “Options” and then the “Account Manager” button. Once on the Account manager screen please tap where it reads “Preloaded Recipes” to remove the X to the left and the preloaded recipes will be removed.
Please note, the preloaded recipes on the Readers are bundled together and can only be removed as a group. If there are any preloaded recipes that you would like to keep, please search for them by name on KeyIngredient.com’s “Recipe Search” feature and add them to your KeyIngredient.com Library.

Please note: you may Email recipes that are “Public” or “Friends Only.” “Private” recipes cannot be shared via email. You will be directed to login into your Twitter account. Next, type in any additional message you’d like to be included with the recipe link and select the blue Tweet button to post the recipe on your Twitter feed.

Can’t find your friend’s or family’s recipes? No worries, we’d be happy to initiate the follow process on your behalf. We’d just need you to forward the email addresses of the members you’d like to follow. Please have the member you’d like to follow reach out us as well so we may complete the circle and ensure you both are following each other giving you both access to each other’s public and friends only recipes.
With cooks that you “Follow,” you can see their recipes with the “Public” privacy status. If they “Follow” you back, then you’ll be able to see their Public and Friend’s Only recipes. When visiting their profile page you may choose to select the green “Get members name here recipes” to upload all of their recipes to your account. The recipes will be stored under your My Collection screen and assigned their own Cookbook “Usernames recipes”. Or you may select individual recipes from the recipe list on the members profile page to add to your account.
You may also choose to email a Cookbook to someone. To do so, please sign into your account and select the My Collection tab and open the Cookbook you’d like to email. You’ll notice 3 icons to the right of the Cookbook title available to choose from, please select the 1st icon (green envelope with an arrow protruding from it) which will open another window prompting you the person’s name, email address and optional personal message and click send. The recipient will receive an email that will allow them to accept the Cookbook in which case it will automatically be added to their account.

With your new Recipe Reader you can quickly add or remove the preloaded recipes right from your Reader’s Account Manager page. To get there please select the Options button, then Account Manager. Once on the Account Manager page please tap where it reads Preloaded Recipes to remove the X mark to the left and remove your Reader’s preloaded recipes and Cookbooks. To add the Preloaded recipes back onto your Reader simply repeat the process and add the X mark again where it reads Preloaded Recipes on your Account Manager screen.
These preloaded recipes are bundled together and can only be removed as a group. If there are any preloaded recipes that you would like to keep in your account, you are welcome to search for them by name on www.KeyIngredient.com’s Search feature and add them to your Recipe Library.

Grocery List allows you to create a shopping list using recipes from Key Ingredient. You can modify your list and add ingredients manually. You can also print your list or view and edit on the Key Ingredient mobile
To create your Grocery list please sign into your Keyingredient.com account and select the My Collection tab. Locate and open the Recipe that contains the ingredients you’d like to add to your Grocery list. From the opened recipe page, please select Add to Grocery list to the right of the recipe’s image. A window will appear with all of the ingredients check marked, edit your list accordingly and select the Add button. You may then access your Grocery List and edit it further by aisle/section by selecting the Grocery List tab on the top of your Key Ingredient account.
