Sausage and Pecan Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mild breakfast sausage
  • 1 c yellow cornmeal
  • 1 c AP flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1/3 c coarsely chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Brown sausage, separating into pieces. Pour off drippings. Sift together cornmeal, flour, sugar and baking powder. Add egg, milk, and oil. Mix to combine thoroughly. Fold in sausage and pecans. Turn batter into a greased 9 inch glass pie plate. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Serves 6.
